Summary

Crafting a Visual Identity for Tailored Innovation

Date
Nov 2022

Description

Zagalabs sought a rebranding to align its visual identity with its core essence and mission of tailored innovation.

Problem

Unifying Identity for Tailored Innovation

Zagalabs lacked a cohesive brand guide that effectively communicated its essence of tailored innovation. Existing brand elements did not capture the desired message for external communication.

Challenges

Visualizing the Complexity of Innovation

The challenge was to swiftly develop a visual concept representing innovation, a complex and abstract process. Balancing innovation with continuity from the previous brand added another layer of complexity.

Process

From Concept to Creation: Visualizing Innovation

We embarked on a journey to visualize innovation, starting with a fundamental question: "What does innovation look like?" Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, we curated a moodboard and defined brand pillars, color palette, and typographic direction. Divergent exploration led to the development of two distinct directions, from which we collectively chose one to refine and execute.

Validation

Aligning direction with ELT

Validation in branding projects is a little... different, in this case we focused on having regular meetings with the team leaders to ensure that what we were developing was in line with the objectives they had.

Results

Elevating Presence, Inviting Investment

The rebranding was swiftly executed, updating external brand assets across main platforms and initiating work on the website launch. Zagalabs' refreshed identity positioned it with greater authority among competitors and attracted private investment for internal projects, signaling success in communicating its essence of tailored innovation.
